Château Baret is located in the town of Villenave D'Ornon, on the city of Bordeaux doorstep.
Being close to the city centre of Bordeaux means that the property benefits from early grapes ripening thus limiting the impact of temperamental late weather conditions usually affecting the region. Formerly the property of the Lords of Baret, the Ballande family, Bordeaux traders and ship-owners, acquire the property in 1867.
Following fire damage in the early twentieth century, the Château’s extension building work is carried out. During the last twenty years, the vineyard, the vat room and the cellars have been fully rehabilitated and refurbished. The Château is surrounded by the vineyard which totals 25.80 hectares, out of the 40 hectares of the estate.
